Dodgy Internet threatening emails

Got an email in my spam folder from someone who had the last 4 didgets of my phone number saying they are gonna send a vid off my webcam showing me watching porn....wants £1,000 off me - was tempted to email back and tell whoever it was to fuck off but they'll think I'm gonna fold and stump up some wedge.
Really tempted to get a short term VPN and email them from another email address I have and and give them some grief.....what would you do?

I got one of these where the title was a variation of one of the passwords that I use.
Told me the had a screenshot from my webcam and me watching porn and threatened to send it to all my contacts if I didn't send $1000 of bitcoin
That's impossible though because I don't have a webcam.

2. Sign up to 1 month free trial on experian to see if your details have been compromised.
3. Place blu tack over web cam.
4. Get back to your porn.

It's possible for it to be remotely activated if it's still physically connected to the computer. Covering the lens is probably the best advice.
